Why are you here?

Well, here I am… 31, married, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 3 kids (2 by proxy and one I grew), a mortgage and a full time job.  I have come full circle in the last 5 years.  So, you wonder, what’s this thing gonna be about?  What could Teresa possibly find to talk about that she needs to post it in a blog for the world to see?  Weeellll.. glad you asked!  With the above mentioned list of life fillers, I also love to decorate, DIY, talk about breastfeeding and natural birth, stay healthy – as in exercise and eating healthy, and snowboard.  Had to throw that last one in there since it’s getting cold and it will soon be snowboard season.  Here is a list (in no particular order) of the topics that I will cover and look forward to lots of discussion!!

  • Decorating
  • DIY
  • Breastfeeding
  • Baby-wearing
  • Fitness
  • Food
  • Snowboarding
  • Life in general

So stay tuned, I will post at least weekly about one subject or another!

So, to kick things off, let’s get started on a subject… which one?  How about hiking?  We plan to spend Sunday hiking the Peaks of Otter with G-mike and ASM.  Izzo is off with a friend out of town for the weekend (her first out of town trip without any of us BTW!!).  The peaks are located near Buchanan off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  You can take a look at some info on them here. You are sitting there right now thinking that we have lost our minds right?  The peaks with a 1 year old???  Well thanks to a trusty pack that Jeff scored at a yard sale this spring, he will be happily packing up to the top on his back.  🙂  Lucky him.  Oh, he doesn’t mind, he is tough like that.  I might take him for a little bit, but that pack kills my shoulders and I’m just not up to snuff with hiking and packing.

I think I have hiked the peaks 2 times before, once pre-pregnancy and once when ASM was about 7 or 8 months old.  Its a fun hike, lots of views, just enough challenge that you know you are doing something, but short enough that you don’t start wishing for a rockfall to carry you down the rest of the way.  With a 5k next weekend, this should be a nice break from running.

Anyone else been hiking lately?  Captured any heart-stopping views in a photo? Or anyone else running a 5k?

Tell me what you think! It totally makes my day to hear from you...
